$400 Budget Update – 8/18

The school year is upon us, oh my goodness.  This week we went to the public school and found music classrooms.  Our family made a trip to our dance studio for costume measurements.  Emails about orientation events, fall trainings, and upcoming activities are flooding my email inbox.

And in the midst of it all I somehow had to get to the store for groceries.  I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart and one local chain this week.  We did not need much, which was good.  I found myself with very little free time for shopping.  On a positive note, this meant I did not spend much money, and the budget is happy for it.

If you are new to my weekly budgeting posts, you can read the original story here.  As always, our weekly menu is listed at the end of the post.

In addition to the two trips listed below, our menu benefited from generous family members.  My brother sent us home with leftover pork from our family reunion this weekend.  Because it was so yummy, we ate it all before there was a chance to snap a picture.  My mom also gave us some fruit and muffins that lasted for a couple of breakfasts.  Once again, pictures were forgotten.
